Žan Košir won his first giant slalom on Rogli

Žan Košir is the winner of this year’s last parallel giant slalom for FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup on Rogla.

After the eleventh time in qualifications, he remained undefeated in the finals. His competitor for first place was Andrej Soboljev. Third place went to Polish Oskar Kwiatkowski.

In women’s competition, the winner was Ramona Theresia Hofmeister from Germany. Second place went to Sofia Nadirshina from Russia and third Julie Zogg from Switzerland.

The second Slovenian finalist, Tim Mastnak, took eleventh place, while Rok Marguč (38th place) and Jernej Glavan (resignation) in the men’s competition and Sara Goltes (49th place) in the women’s competition remained without elimination matches.

Small crystal globes for the giant slalom total were also awarded. It was won by Italian Roland Fischnaller and German Ramona Theresia Hofmeister. Košir (4th place) missed the bronze medal by just eight points. Mastnak is the 10th overall and Marguč the 33rd giant slalom skier of the 2020/2021 season.
